Jesus explained:
“If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,
‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.”
Matthew 17:20
Some Ideas to Contemplate:
- Jesus, Master Mystic, Healer, Teacher, and Wayshower encourages his followers—and us—to activate our faith so we may live the life we want. To Jesus, God (Higher Power, Supreme Divine Energy, Great Spirit, etc.) is the ground from which our faith grows, as easily as mustard seeds, which germinate quickly. Within a few weeks, some scattered mustard seeds can transform a barren landscape into a lush field.
- Faith is confidence and trust in God, the tremendous energy that orders the cosmos. Like a compass, our faith guides our journey. We can direct it to cooperate with the divine flow of the Universe or to align with our own personal will. Either way, faith leads us as we believe, and whether positive or negative, we demonstrate those beliefs.
- In How to Let God Help You, a collection of her essays, Unity Co-Founder and Metaphysician Myrtle Fillmore explains that stepping forward in faith is like entering “a country the laws of which we do not know, so all we can do is trust our unseen guide, secure in the thought that, if we are faithful, all will be well in the end.” With this consciousness (mindset), we expect the best, viewing the unknown or uncertain as friendly. We set our compass for divine outcome and take the next step ahead.
Practices for the Week:
- Remember: You are a spiritual being with a radiant soul, living in a sacred body temple, having human experiences.
- Reflect on ways you have directed your faith to assert your will rather than flow with what the Universe reveals to you.
- Illustrate, journal, and/or record what you notice when you align yourself with the Divine.
- Then discern some ways you can move ahead with positive expectation.
