Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. Your energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, because God always desires your willingness to work to fulfill your purpose.
Philippians 2:12-13
Notes for Contemplation as You Use this Devotional:
- This wisdom, in the section sometimes called, “Shining Your Light,” is part of Paul’s guidance to the Philippians, as they discern how to live like Christ Jesus.
- Everything in the world and in our lives is filled with divine life energy, or the Energy (Spirit) of God, unconditionally loving, infinitely compassionate, everywhere, all the time.
- God is the Source of energy which supports every aspect of our lives. In the philosophy of Feng Shui, this energy is called Ch’i (pronounced chee) and is understood to imbue all things, animate and inanimate alike. Every person, place, and thing is connected by Ch’i, just as we’re all connected to God and each other.
- Being aware of God’s presence in our lives or practicing Feng Shui encourages us to recognize the divine flow of life within and around us. It also invites us to stay open to transformation, because in truth, things change all the time. Understanding this helps us both expect change and flow with it.
- Jesus continually encourages us to transform our lives and understand our divine connection with God. He teaches us to live abundantly (John 10:10). So, despite what some Christians teach, we aren’t saved through substitutionary atonement, the belief that Jesus died for our sins. We save ourselves from problems and heartaches when we’re willing to transform our mindset and direct our energies toward whatever is life-affirming.
- With discernment and spiritual maturity, we discover that our personal energy and the energy within our homes and workplaces is more precious than gold. So, we choose to eliminate broken, dirty, or obsolete possessions as well as negative, outmoded, or self-defeating beliefs.
- Whatever our purpose, we decide how we’ll direct our energy through divine ideas (which we often know intuitively) and deliberate, positive actions.
Contemplation Questions:
As you reflect on your life and circumstances, ask yourself:
- When I breathe deeply and contemplate the energy in my body:
- What feels vibrant and alive?
- Without analysis or judgment, list, word map, or illustrate whatever you notice.
- What feels stagnant and stale?
- Without analysis or judgment, list, word map, or illustrate whatever you notice.
- What feels vibrant and alive?
- When I breathe deeply and contemplate the energy in my home:

- What feels vibrant and alive?
- When I breathe deeply and reflect on what’s vibrant and what’s stagnant in my life, what I am willing to transform?
- List, word map, or illustrate everything you are willing to do.
- When I reflect on how precious my divine life energy is and the transformation I desire, what is my intuition—not my intelligence—telling me?
- List, word map, or illustrate as much as you can.
- When I contemplate my intuition’s guidance, what are at least three (3) ways I can tap into the divine life energy of God?
- List, word map, or illustrate as much as you can imagine.
As you use this devotional, honor and nurture yourself with some contemplative time, even if for only five (5) minutes a day. Let it be your break from figuring everything out. Rest your intellect and open pathways for your intuition, your still, small voice, to speak to you. Be aware of your body and your space so you remain grounded to the Earth and centered in the consciousness of your heart. This is how you revitalize your divine life energy and feel your oneness with God.
