The Lord says:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name.”
Isaiah 43:1
Some Ideas to Contemplate:
- In this passage, the Prophet Isaiah tells the children of Israel that God (Higher Power, Supreme Divine Energy, Great Spirit, etc.) has saved them from harm. They are redeemed: restored to a healthy, functional state, as good as or better than their previous experience. By recognizing their divinity and oneness with God, they can experience life differently than they have before.
- Redemption is a spiritual do-over that renews our soul energy. It is soul reclamation that helps us stop revisiting old pain and use our precious energy to heal. We can reflect on the past compassionately, acknowledging our experiences without choosing to recreate them. We can forgive ourselves or others because we made the best choices we could at the time.
- Redemption, however, does not condone harmful behavior, unhealthy choices, or pretend that we did not err. Rather, it transforms the negative into something positive by allowing us to draw on our inner wisdom and unique abilities. We gather the treasures of who we once were. We transform our outlook so we stop feeling bad and honor our own divine journey.
Practices for the Week:
- Notice any ways you are clinging to past pain.
- Reflect gently on what you notice, offering yourself compassion for any mistakes or shortcomings.
- Illustrate, journal, and/or record your new insights and positive revelations.
You are a spiritual being with a radiant soul, living in a sacred body temple, having human experiences. Remember: As one of God’s divine beloveds, you have the wisdom, strength, and power to redeem yourself. When you remember what your previous intentions were, you can discern how to live differently and heal now.
