Many in the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut from the fields. The ones who went ahead of Jesus and those who followed were shouting: “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Then Jesus entered Jerusalem.
From Mark 11:8-11
Notes for Contemplation as You Use this Devotional:
- In this mystical passage by the Gospel Writer Called Mark, from the chapter often titled, “The Triumphal Entry,” Jesus’s followers prepare a path into Jerusalem, the heart of faith and peace. By entering the city for Passover, Jesus leads the way to recognizing the Christ, the pure soul essence within everyone. He fulfills this magnificent expression not only for himself, but for anyone who chooses to express the same divinity.
- Your Christ nature is the seat of all your creativity and abundance. All the divine ideas, wisdom, faith, courage, and love you need to live your best life are within you.
- Your prosperity—peace of mind; harmonious relationships; physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing; loving attitudes; fulfilling work or service; and abundant, successful living—flow best when you give lovingly. As Unity Minister and Master Teacher Rev. Martha Giudici taught, “Life as God prepared it is not a slot machine . . . that maybe you’re going to hit it. Life as God prepared it for” you always works according to spiritual law. That law states that you must give to receive because the universe is always giving.
- Demonstration is your evidence of how well your life works. As Jesus, Rev. Martha, and many other spiritual masters teach, you must watch your motives when you give so you don’t grab, barter, martyr, or force. If you have a “what’s-in-it-for-me?” attitude, you block your own flow with contingencies. But when you stay open to receiving your good from known and unknown sources, you keep yourself in the constant flow.
Contemplation Questions:
As you reflect on your life and circumstances, ask yourself:
- In what ways do I give conditionally?
- List, word map, or illustrate the ways.
- In what ways do I give unconditionally?
- List, word map, or illustrate the ways.
- When I remove all conditions, what are at least three (3) ways I am allowing my best to flow to me and through me?
- List, word map, or illustrate as much as you can.
Remember, as you use this devotional and live your life, that you are the one who has arrived in the world in the name of the Lord. You are here now by divine appointment to be the Christ in expression. No one else has your soul imprint. No one else can live your life for you. No one else can give the love you have to share. Enter the kingdom, the heart of faith and peace, so you may embrace the rich glory of your own wondrous life.
