Jesus told the crowd: “Pay attention to what you hear . . .  For to those who have, more will be given; and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.”

As told in Mark: 4:24, 25; Matthew 13:12; Luke: 8:18

Notes for Contemplation as You Use this Devotional:

  • In this passage shared by Gospel Writers Mark, Matthew, and Luke, Jesus teaches his followers about the energy of intention, whether positive or negative. He reminds them of a great spiritual truth: that our thoughts and words shape our experiences. He explains that despite outer conditions, they have the inner power and capacity to lead fulfilling, abundant lives.  But if they abdicate their personal power, they’ll lose what good they already have.
  • Jesus is a mystic, master teacher, healer, and wayshower for multitudes because he fully embodies his absolute divinity. He knows God (Higher Power, Supreme Being, Divine Life Energy, etc.) as the Infinitely Compassionate, Unconditionally Loving Source, Substance, and Sustenance of all good, all you need to live a fulfilling, prosperous life.
  • Unity Minister and Master Teacher Rev. Martha Giudici taught that prosperity occurs through you, not to you. Therefore, to fully experience prosperity, you must listen to the words you speak and notice the thoughts you hold in your mind. For no matter whether positive or negative, your words are formative and create your world.  This is because your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between a positive and a negative.  Like a recording device, it only knows what you tell it.
  • Energy flows from your intentions, thoughts, and words. You must decide for yourself how you’ll commit to prosperity. You must discern what you want.  You also must prepare yourself to receive your prosperity, not someone else’s.
  • Demonstration is your evidence of how your life works for you. So, to demonstrate more prosperity, notice how you’re already prospering, and appreciate what you already have. For example, if you want to find your perfect mate, you might say, “I’m grateful for wonderful friends who encourage and support me.  Now I’m also ready to be happily united with my beloved.”  Then peacefully and gently prepare yourself to meet them.

Contemplation Questions:

As you reflect on your life and circumstances, ask yourself:

  • What blessings are flowing in my life now?
    • List, word map, or illustrate as much as you can.
  • What else am I intending for my life now?
    • List, word map, or illustrate all your intentions.
  • What healthy, positive energy am I investing in myself?
    • List, word map, or illustrate your self-investment.
  • What healthy, positive preparations am I making to receive my future good?
    • List, word map, or illustrate your preparations.

As you use this devotional, affirm only what you want to be true about and for you.  Remember that no one has the power to make you think or feel anything unless you give them that power.  You determine your thoughts, and you decide how you experience your feelings.  So avoid repeating what you don’t want.  Instead, affirm that your desires are being fulfilled, bless what’s yours now, and prepare to receive your best.
