“I will show you my faith by my deeds.”
James 2:18
Some Ideas to Contemplate:
- This wisdom from James, Jesus’s brother, encourages us to boldly live our faith. To James, it is not enough to be faithful. And only praying for our heart’s desires is not enough. We also must act faithfully by “spiritualizing” our prayers, doing our own work, and taking our own steps to fulfill our dreams. No one else can do it for us.
- We each demonstrate our faith by how we choose to act. These actions reveal our personal beliefs and sacred values, as well as our trust in God (Higher Power, Supreme Universal Energy, etc.) as our Source and Sustenance.
- Demonstration is a natural flow within the creative process, the outer expression of our spiritual understanding and the evidence of what does or does not work in our lives. We can only act, then demonstrate, from our current level of knowing. So, if we like what is happening in our lives, we could say we are demonstrating positive results. But if we dislike anything occurring within us or around, we must shift our energy and refocus our intentions so we can demonstrate both what we know and what we desire.
Practices for the Week:
- Notice, without recrimination or judgment, what you are demonstrating.
- Assess which demonstrations are positive and life-fulfilling or negative and destructive.
- Illustrate, journal, and/or record the new demonstrations you want to see.
You are a spiritual being with a radiant soul, living in a sacred body temple, having human experiences. Remember that you are responsible for yourself. You are not acting to impress or convince anyone else, and you do not need anyone else’s approval for your choices. Trust your intuition, step forward faithfully, and continually raise the frequency of your energy to match the demonstrations you most desire.
