“You will decide on a matter,
and it will be established for you,
and light will shine on your ways.”

Job 22:28

Some Ideas to Contemplate:

  • This wisdom from the Book of Job encourages us to use spiritual discernment so we can demonstrate greater healing, prosperity, and wellbeing than we have previously.  In sacred scripture, discernment is a valued treasure like silver and gold, a great gift of God (Higher Power, Supreme Universal Energy).  So rather than seeking light or guidance outside of ourselves first, we look within to discover what is best for us now.
  • Spiritual discernment is intuitive knowing and insight.  It incorporates the subtle energy awareness of faith and wisdom, usually as we listen to our own still, small voice.  With discernment, we affirm our divine connection with God (Higher Power, Supreme Universal Energy) so we trust our own intuition and intelligence.  We consider all possibilities, and choose those that resonate most deeply with us.
  • Just as the biblical Job did, we, too, can develop discernment if we are willing to shift our attention away from recent troubles and losses to see new opportunities.  When we are in a healthy discernment process, we are fully connected with God (Higher Power, Supreme Universal Energy).  We allow ourselves to be guided.  We have faith that our answers are being revealed to us.  Then we know clearly what is our responsibility and what is someone else’s.

Practices for the Week:

  • Set your intention and focus your energy on connecting with God (Higher Power, Supreme Universal Energy) to listen to your intuition.
  • Relax and notice the wisdom and guidance revealed to you.
  • Illustrate, journal, and/or record all you see, hear, and know, no matter how subtle.

You are a spiritual being with a radiant soul, living in a sacred body temple, having human experiences.  Honor your intuition and your time for quiet discernment.  Notice both the light within you and the light shining on your perfect path.  Let yourself be guided, and trust that you are receiving the answers you need as you need them.
