In the Gospel by the Mark Writer (10:27), Jesus, Master Mystic, Healer, Teacher, and Wayshower says: “With humans, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.”  He means that when we are aligned with God (Higher Power, Supreme Divine Energy, Great Spirit, etc.), we can do all that is ours to do.  But he does not mean we can do everything in this lifetime, however we believe our life can unfold.

Each of us has a purpose, a direction, an ideal of being.  As radiant souls, we each are here to gain new experiences and share great gifts.  In her 1929 book, What Are You?, Imelda Shanklin explains the power of this ideal:

“The ideal always keeps a little in advance of you.  As your vision clarifies, you will see that the improvement which you first dreamed of making was but the initial step toward the goal.  Your guiding star is not a stationary one.  Having gained the eminence from which the light first shone, you find the beacon has moved to higher ground.  Pursue it rejoicingly, a song on your lips, courage in your heart.  All the ground that you gain is good ground.

“. . . Always far enough ahead to keep you climbing, always near enough to give you comfort, up and ever up, proceeds the beacon light.  It is leading you along the hills of God to the summit of God consciousness.

“. . . If you hold to your purpose, you will accomplish all that you attempt.”

When we are aligned with God, as Jesus was, we hold to our ideal, following our star, our intuition, our guidance—not anyone else’s.

For Your Soulwork Practice This Week:

Remember: You are a spiritual being with a radiant soul, living in a sacred body temple, having human experiences.

During your prayer and meditation time, reflect on the guidance you receive, even if you dislike it.  Rather than trying to figure out how things will happen, stay attuned to what you can do now.  Be present and grounded in your body.  Notice what is happening within you and around you.  Focus on your one guiding star.  Then trust that you will know exactly what to do tomorrow and in all the days to come.
