After King Herod’s death, Joseph took Jesus and Mary out of Egypt, just as the Angel of the Lord had instructed.  This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet, Hosea: “Out of the bondage of Egypt I called my child.”

Matthew 2:15

Notes for Contemplation as You Use this Devotional:

  • In this mystical passage by the Gospel Writer Called Matthew, from the chapter often titled, “The Flight from Egypt,” Joseph follows his intuitive guidance, which speaks to him as an angel.
  • Joseph doesn’t question or second guess what he hears. He follows the direction he receives, so Jesus is safe to grow into the mystic, master teacher, healer, and wayshower for multitudes that he will become. Joseph’s actions set an example for Jesus, who learns to fully embody his perfect spiritual nature as he aligns himself with God (Higher Power, Supreme Being, Divine Life Energy, etc.).
  • Leaving Egypt, a place of constraints, means that you are free to release what no longer serves you, even if it previously did. You are free to move into your next phase of being, to express more of your radiant soul essence, the Christ, and to live in whatever way feels prosperous for you now.
  • God acts through you, based on your consciousness (mindset). As Unity Minister and Master Teacher Rev. Martha Giudici taught, your superconscious mind, the intuitive soul power within you, is your spiritual genius. She affirmed often, “I am a spiritual genius, and everything I need to know is revealed to me, through me, from within me.”
  • Because prosperity comes through known and unknown sources, Rev. Martha also taught the importance of being open and prepared to receive by:
    • Defining what you need.
    • Affirming, accepting, and recognizing that abundance already is yours.
    • Staying open to God’s infinite sources and streams of good.
    • Maintaining a positive, loving consciousness toward yourself and others.
    • Trusting your inner genius (your intuition and wisdom) to guide you.
    • Preparing for the abundance you envision.
    • Being grateful for what you already have, as well as for what you will receive.
  • Demonstration is your evidence of how well your life works. So, pause and consider your current demonstration. If it’s everything you want, wonderful; keep going.  But if anything is less than you deserve, for you deserve the best, then define what you need to feel fulfilled now.  Notice your attitude about life and people around you so you remain attuned only to positive energy.

Contemplation Questions:

As you reflect on your life and circumstances, ask yourself:

  • What circumstances am I allowing to constrain me?
    • List, word map, or illustrate whatever they are.
  • In what ways is my intuition, my spiritual genie, guiding me to free myself?
    • List, word map, or illustrate all your guidance.
  • What are at least three (3) ways I can prepare to receive my abundance now?
    • List, word map, or illustrate as much as you can.

As you use this devotional, remember that you don’t need to see every step of the path.  Just prepare yourself by doing whatever is yours to do.  Stay open and receptive to the grace, goodness, and synchronicity of life.  Trust your intuition, your own personal prosperity genie, and know that you’re being shown your best way now.
