Notes for Contemplation as You Use this Devotional:

• This passage from the Book of Job sometimes titled, “Eliphaz Encourages Job,” is the assurance Job needs to trust God. He knows that God’s will for him is goodness, even though he has suffered many losses and hardships. He senses that he’s divinely guided.  He recognizes divine order unfolding and he’s ready to place his faith in that perfect order.
• Divine order, the unifying principle which sustains and supports all life, isn’t something we seek, but something we trust, whether seen or unseen. It’s absolute universal harmony, like the Earth perfectly rotating on its axis, just as it’s designed.
• Demonstration is the evidence you can see of what does or doesn’t work for you. When you trust divine order, you aren’t trying to steer the world or force something into being. You’re directing your faith toward positive outcome.
• Former Directors of the Unity Prayer Ministry Mary-Alice and Richard Jafolla teach that “faith is expectation. What you strongly and consistently expect to come into your life is invariably what you will experience.”
• Faith in divine order helps you enjoy the journey. You aren’t struggling to figure everything out. You don’t worry about, or hurry into, the future.  You gently release the past.  You live in the moment.  You feel a warm, sometimes comforting, intuitive feeling that all is unfolding for the best.  You expect it, and you let it happen.  You know within you that you’re on your best path.
• When you trust divine order, you don’t set things in order. You see them in order. You maintain a diligent yet calm pace, constant in your efforts, as you remain open and flexible.
• If something is out of order in your life, check your expectations. You’re likely off course. To get back on track, determine whether you’re working with God (flowing) or pushing against God (struggling), because either way, divine order works.
• To decide on all matters, listen to your intuition. Then discern how to proceed. Your intuition helps you set your pace, so you know when to move, rest, and adjust.

Contemplation Questions:

As you reflect on your life and circumstances, ask yourself:

• Where am I now?
  • List, word map, or illustrate your situation or status.

• Where am I directing my expectations?
  • List, word map, or illustrate all the directions, noting specifically whether they’re positive or negative.
  • Then, reframe the negative ones, either turning them into positives or letting them go.

• Where do I truly want to be?
  • List, word map, or illustrate your desired place/experience.

• When I contemplate where I want to be, what are at least three (3) ways I can get and/or stay on course?
  • List, word map, or illustrate all the ways.

• What are at least three (3) ways I see divine order unfolding for me?
  • List, word map, or illustrate all the ways, chronicling and celebrating all your milestones, no matter how small.

As you use this devotional, trust that you can reach your destination, even if you can’t see the whole path.  Be assured: You don’t need all the details about how you’ll get there.  That’s God’s job, not yours.  So, have faith in your perfect journey.  Let your path be established.  Then go ahead at your perfect pace.
