Jesus said: “Do not fear little flock, for it is your Father’s [God’s] good pleasure to give you the kingdom of all good.”

Luke: 12:32

Notes for Contemplation as You Use this Devotional:

  • In this mystical passage from the Gospel Writer called Luke, Jesus affectionately encourages his followers to know that God (Higher Power, Divine Life Energy, Supreme Being, etc.) is the Source, Substance, and Sustenance of their lives. Throughout his ministry, Jesus teaches that God is beneficence, compassion, and generosity. God is the unconditionally loving parent, the great, good shepherd, guiding everyone to what they need for fulfillment and wellbeing.
  • Jesus is a mystic, master teacher, healer, and wayshower for multitudes because he fully embodies his absolute divinity. He always aligns himself with God, which he calls “Father.” He knows and explains that God never withholds anything from anyone.
  • Unity Minister and Master Teacher Rev. Martha Giudici taught that “prosperity is spiritual, and spirituality prospers.” This means that the most important thing you can do, no matter what is occurring in your life, is to commit fully to your spiritual growth and maturity. This is where prosperity begins.
  • To feel prosperous, you also must know that you live in a world of infinite supply. Martha calls this “omnipresent spiritual substance.” This substance is everywhere, and you form it into matter with divine ideas to create, for example, a cake, company, or connection.  While this substance may sometimes fall from the sky like rain watering dry crops, you must form divine substance for yourself and plant the seeds that will grow what you need, when you need it.
  • Demonstration is your evidence of how your life is working for you. When you expand your consciousness (mindset) and attune yourself to God as Jesus did, you know that all good is available to you. You define prosperity for yourself and stop comparing yourself to anyone else.  You know you’re one of God’s beloveds, just as Jesus was.  Then, you recognize that everything you need is available, in the present moment, and you demonstrate abundantly, according to these beliefs.

Contemplation Questions:

As you reflect on your life and circumstances, ask yourself:

  • What commitment am I willing to make to my spirituality now?
    • List, word map, or illustrate your commitment.
  • What is my personal definition of prosperity and abundance?
    • List, word map, or illustrate your definition.
  • What feels prosperous and abundant to me?
    • List, word map, or illustrate your feelings.
  • When I reflect on my definition of and my feelings about prosperity and abundance, what substance is available to me to use now?
    • List, word map, or illustrate all that’s available to you.

Use this devotional anytime you want to deepen your spiritual practice (whatever it is) and increase your abundance.  As you contemplate prosperity for yourself, remember to include such things as fulfilling work, physical and emotional wellbeing, peace of mind, and loving relationships.  Notice what you enjoy, what you do easily and naturally, without deep analysis.  This is where the seeds of prosperity are already growing.
